Windows 10 released – Don’t click the upgrade button (yet..!)
29/07/2015
Microsoft released Windows 10 late on the 29th July 2015, via electronic distribution to Windows 7 and Windows 8 users.
The free upgrade is optional – and will download over the internet and install on PC’s.
While it may be very tempting to click the ‘upgrade’ button when offered it, we’re recommending the following, especially if you’re in a business environment:
Our recommendations
- Defer installing the free upgrade until at least mid to late August, if not later. Let the kinks get ironed out first!
- Backup your important data before doing anything!
- If you’re one of our clients, please discuss the upgrade with us first before actioning anything yourself, in case we have any concerns about your particular IT requirements and environment.
If you really cannot resist the ‘upgrade’ button…
