Managing Director

Steve founded activIT systems in 2004, and over the journey has experienced the joys, demands, and occasional stresses, of owning and managing a successful small business. He is a proud Dad of a young family and loves watching the cricket and the footy.

With a mentality that we can always do something better than we’ve done it in the past, Steve strives to ensure that activIT systems provides not only great products and services to our clients in the most cost effective ways possible, but also the reassurance and reliability to clients that when they need us, we’ll be there for them.

Steven Patterson
Service Manager

Steven has come from an e-commerce and Internet Marketing background and has been working in the IT Industry since 2008. One of his IT passions is transitioning our clients from one system to another; he wants to make sure that the clients experience amazing customer service and a smooth transition, not just a new computer system.

Past IT experience includes mid sized companies such as Unidata Pty Ltd, through to the Water Corporation and Woodside Petroleum, on contract through CSC (Computer Services Corporation).

During his spare time, Steven loves to tinker with new IT equipment and technology, and occasionally catches up on his favourite authors, Lee Child and Matthew Reilly … on an electronic book reader of course.

Technical Director

Glen has been in the IT industry since 2007, and during that time has acquired a great deal of experience with a wide variety of hardware, software and supporting systems.

Glen’s role at activIT involves overseeing the technical and cybersecurity direction of the company and our clients, establishing standards and procedures, and is heavily involved in day to day cybersecurity projects.

Glen thoroughly enjoys the challenges that the IT industry provides and prides himself on providing the right solution for our clients to suit their needs. Having performed work for clients in a differing array of industries including manufacturing, waste management, resources, legal, finance, creative, transport, real estate, construction and more, he always strives to ensure that IT systems are implemented in a timely and efficient manner and that they are working to optimal capacity.

Outside of work, he loves going for a bushwalk in the countryside surrounding his home in Devonport, Tasmania, and enjoys the art of photography, and relaxes to a bit of Metallica.

Office Manager

Marisa has completed her Diploma in Building Studies, and has an experienced background in the Construction industry, having started as an Executive Assistant and then progressing to Project Administration and Scheduling.

She is enjoying the challenge of tackling the Administration side of a completely different industry, and is finding the IT world super interesting and intriguing!

When she is not working, she enjoys family time and adventures with her 10-year-old, which certainly keeps her busy

IT Systems Engineer

Adam has been working as an IT Systems Engineer, after being promoted from Helpdesk Technician in 2021. He’s completed a Bachelor of CyberSecurity at university and is looking to expand his technical ability in the field.

In his spare time, he enjoys drone racing, camping, and going to the beach.

Adam’s main motivation in his work is the problem-solving nature of the job and the ability to assist customers and make their day better.

Assistant Service Manager

Ben is our Assistant Service Manager, helping to oversee our helpdesk team, together with a large number of technical procedures like client onboarding.

Ben’s IT background come from tinkering with IT systems in his home lab. He spends his time outside of work learning new skills that he can apply in the workplace for our clients. In addition, Ben enjoys doing photography, gaming & spending time with friends.

He is driven by his passion for problem-solving, and uses his problem-solving skills to improve our service delivery and procedures.

Client Success Manager

I’ve always enjoyed using computers and “hacking” things (pretty standard for my generation!), which led to my interest in IT.

My background is in service delivery for a large outsourcing company where I was working across endpoint management and sysadmin, and I’ve also worked in different branches of a marine management group where I had heaps of exposure to different IT environments.

I love solving complex problems, especially when it’s something that I’ve encountered or learnt while working on my home lab environment. I really enjoy building rapport with clients to provide the best service I can.

Outside of work, if I’m not working on my home lab setup I’m in the gym, training six times a week. I like gaming too when I can find the time!

Cyber Security Specialist

Jett joined us in 2021 on our helpdesk team, and in late 2023 was promoted to Cyber Security Specialist after completing his degree. His role revolves around helping our clients improve their cyber security posture through consultation and technical work – making them harder to hack.

When he’s not electric longboarding along the beach or biking on trails, he loves tinkering and improving his home IT lab setup and the very occasional gaming when time permits.

Jett’s passion is for IT and he loves solving people’s technology problems, which motivates him as a professional in the industry.

Administration & Accounts Payable

Amanda joined the activIT team as our Administration Officer in October 2021, after working over a decade in various administration roles. She looks forward to widening her understanding on IT, cybersecurity, and general IT knowledge as they’re vital to general day-to-day life.

Outside of work she loves her sports, including hockey, basketball, soccer, futsal, cricket, rugby, and footy. Her young family keep her busy, she loves movies, reading, and has a particular interest sports photography.

Helpdesk Team Lead

Nick joined the activIT team in March 2023 as one of our Helpdesk Technicans, responsible for business-as-usual IT support for our clients. In September 2025, he was promoted to our Helpdesk Team Lead position, overseeing and directing the helpdesk team with day to day activities for our clients.

Nick graduated University with a degree in Business Information Systems in 2022 and is excited to build a career in business related IT. With a DIY attitude, Nick loves to use IT in lots of aspects of his life. From spinning up game servers for himself and his friends, to piecing together cloud platforms for storing his families data, Nick uses his personal projects to continuously expand his IT knowledge.

When not working with IT, Nick likes to watch and participate in a variety of sports, such as Cricket, Footy and a variety of Motorsports. He also has a strong appreciation of Cinema and TV, stemming from a school background in digital media creation.

Nick loves to tackle new problems and is driven to finding solutions. He hopes to help clients work with IT solutions to maximise what they do every day.

IT Helpdesk Analyst

Hamish is one of our help desk technicians, and his role involves being first point of contact for our clients when they are in need of IT support.

Starting with us in March of 2023 Hamish is excited to assist clients and expand his IT knowledge base while working inside of a highly skilled and motivated team.

When not working, Hamish enjoys traveling down south to visit his family, continuing his training as an operatic singer, and camping underneath the stars.

Joel joined the activIT team in March 2023 as one of our Helpdesk Technicans, responsible for business-as-usual IT support for our clients. He’s often one of the first responders to calls and support tickets across our clients.

 

Michelle Sutherland
Administration and Accounts Receivable Officer

Michelle has joined us in our growing administration and accounts department, after recently moved to WA from Victoria to be closer to her family. She has decades of experience working in the office/finance sector and more recently Aged & Disability care.

Having been through the times when computers were only a dream, she has watched the IT industry grow to where it is now and finds it fascinating on where it is going.

Outside of work she loves spending time with her twin granddaughters. Reading, catching up with friends and enjoying some great times around the campfire is a highlight for her. She looks forward to exploring this side of Australia which is high on her bucket list as is travelling overseas and enjoying life to the fullest.

Fabio Roque
IT Systems Engineer

Fabio joined our team in late 2023, and is one of our IT Systems Engineers – you’ll often see him out on the road visiting clients. He’s a black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and loves adventuring around WA!

 

Todd Haines
IT Systems Engineer

Todd is immersed in the world of IT, especially when it comes to networking. Over the years, starting from Todd’s first gig as a field engineer in 2020, he’s gathered a wealth of experience and knowledge in systems and networks that he truly cherishes.

When he’s not knee-deep in setting up new networks, you’ll find Todd diving into his other passions like camping, 4WD adventures, and tinkering with RC cars. Embracing the wild weather of Tasmania while enjoying these hobbies adds that extra thrill to his downtime.

 

Jackson Stephens

Jackson joined the activIT team in 2024 as one of our Helpdesk Technicans, responsible for business-as-usual IT support for our clients. He’s often one of the first responders to calls and support tickets across our clients.

 

Daniel Winterburn
IT Systems Engineer (Consulting & Projects)

Dan works with us as a level 3 engineer, and helps clients with high level technical consulting, IT solution discovery and improvement projects.

Sam Wood
Senior Helpdesk Analyst

Sam works with us as a senior helpdesk analyst, responsible for day to day assistance for clients with all manner of IT requests.
