What are the conditions for Unlimited support?
We have a few exclusions to our Unlimited support plans:

  • Unlimited support means support, not service. We’ll provide unlimited support to your existing IT environment, and any specific software that is agreed upon at the outset of the agreement. We’ll happily support the PC’s, servers, networks, and printers that you use – but troubleshooting that pesky Excel macro written 5 years ago, or programming a new Excel macro to replace it, is not included. The same goes with training your staff on how to use their computers and the software within – we’ll provide this on a best effort basis, but we’re not here to train them on Mail Merge (we can do this outside of the scope of the agreement, however).
  • Your IT equipment needs to be covered by an active and valid manufacturer warranty. Desktops, laptops, and servers need a minimum next business day on site warranty from the manufacturer. If they’re no longer under warranty, we’ll still provide preventative maintenance on them, but should they have a hardware issue, fixing them and reinstating them to operational status is excluded from the agreement.
  • Installation and configuration of new IT devices will be included within our Unlimited support plans, on the provision that:
    • The device is a desktop computer, laptop computer, network device such as a modem, ethernet switch, or WiFi access point,
    • The device is not a server such as a Dell PowerEdge or a HP Proliant system,
    • The device is purchased from activIT systems,
    • Each device is valued at under $10,000 exclusive of GST, where a device is defined as a computer, laptop, network device, or computer peripheral,
    • Any fees from subcontractors or third parties to complete the work are to be paid by the client.

They’re pretty straight forward conditions and designed to be a two way street – we’ll do our utmost so that you have an awesome IT environment and support company that you can rely on, and we have a client who keeps their IT systems up to date, understands that prevention is better than the cure, and knows that a healthy IT system makes for productive staff.
